Please be aware that Immigration New Zealand are currently facing high demand with respect to visa applications. You must apply online for your visa at least 6 weeks before your intended travel date. We cannot emphasis this enough.
Your New Zealand Visa is obtained online through Immigration New Zealand.
The first step is to check whether you hold a passport from a country that has a visa waiver arrangement with New Zealand.
If you are using a passport from a country that has a visa waiver arrangement with New Zealand, you DO NOT need to apply for a visa.
Applying for a Visa
If you are using a passport from a country that does not have a visa waiver arrangement with New Zealand, you NEED TO APPLY for a visa through the Immigration New Zealand website.
Immigration New Zealand have an information sheet specifically for IAPTC delegates applying for a visa to visit New Zealand.
1. Questions in Visa Application. Applicants should note that the online visa application asks basic questions and additional questions may be asked based on responses to previous questions.
2. Visa Cost. The dollar amount in the payment screenshot in the Step-by-Step Guide is different to the cost indicated on the Visa Information sheet – the Visa Information sheet dollar amount is the correct one.
3. Evidence of Funds. If your local government is funding all costs associated to your travel and participation in the IAPTC Conference, a letter explaining this should be provided to Immigration New Zealand with your visa application. Should you wish to spend a few days before or after the conference to holiday in New Zealand, you will need to provide evidence that you have sufficient funds to cover emergency needs throughout your intended holiday.
Immigration New Zealand recommends you attach a copy of the Invitation Letter from the New Zealand Defence Force to your online application.
